Junior Golf Camp
juniorcamps

Cardinal Junior Golf Camps are an excellent way for your child to learn how to play or continue to develop the skills they already have. Work is done daily on different aspects of the game such as driving, putting, and bunker play followed by golf at Kettle Creek. With qualified instruction and distinct programming, your child experiences an environment conducive to learning and having a great time. Campers develop quite a hunger with all of the work they do, lunch is included daily but packing snacks for them is also encouraged.

2012 Junior Campers receive:
hat • bag tag • 6 golf balls • tees • Nike golf shirt • 2 weekday Kettle Creek green fees

FULL DAY: 9am-4pm • $395* per week per child

THE FACILITY

juniorimageCardinal Golf Club consists of four 18 hole courses, double-ended driving range and a miniature golf course. The driving range has laser measured target greens, putting greens, practice bunkers and a short swing area. Cardinal's Kettle Creek golf course is perfect for practicing; not too long, but long enough to challenge. Sky-scraping trees and a meandering creek are just a couple of the challenges that await.

INSTRUCTORS & COUNSELLORS

Jody Boutin, Cardinal's Head Teaching Professional and two-time 'Junior Teacher-of-the-Year' nominee, takes great pride in sharing some of the latest instructional methods with the campers. He has developed a program that helps to accelerate the student's learning by allowing them to thrive in a safe and non-judgemental environment. The supporting staff is certified by the P.G.A. of Canada, and trained on-site by Jody to ensure consistency throughout the program.

Counsellors help the campers get the most out of their camp experience. They chauffeur them to each work station in the morning, lead them to lunch at noon and then golf with them around Kettle Creek in the afternoon. The constant supervision our counsellors provide ensures that the campers are safe and enjoying the camp as much as possible.

A TYPICAL DAY AT CAMP

8:30am-8:59am  Campers sign-in at the Cardinal driving range.
9:00am-11:40am  Campers participate in three 45-minute teaching stations per day varying from full swing, putting, chipping, shot shaping, bunker play, pitching and the rules & etiquette of golf. Teaching stations are small and campers receive one-on-one feedback with a six to one ratio of campers to instructors. Creative training toys & games are used to encourage proper skill acquisition. One of the highlights of our golf instruction is the DVD each camper receives at the end of the week featuring a video of their personal swing and analysis from our Head Teaching Professional, Jody Boutin.
11:40am-12:00pm Skill testing for half day campers
11:45am-12:15pm  Hot lunch is served for full-day campers at the Cardinal clubhouse in the west lounge over-looking the West Wing golf course. (lunch varies from day-to-day)
12:00pm  Half day campers are signed out.
12:16pm-12:25pm  Bus departs from Cardinal Golf Club to Kettle Creek for full day campers.
12:30pm-3:45pm  Campers have the opportunity to apply the skills they’ve learned at the morning golf stations on course at Kettle Creek every afternoon.
4:00pm  Campers sign-out and are picked up by their parents at Kettle Creek golf course.
